We are delighted to return to beautiful Washington College in historic Chestertown, Maryland.
On Maryland's Eastern Shore, only a few hours drive from Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Philadelphia, Washington College was the first college chartered in the sovereign United States of America. In 1782, General George Washington lent his name and donated 50 guineas to its founding. The 120-acre rural campus houses state-of-the-art facilities: "From the cutting-edge equipment in our laboratories to the Colonial-inspired red-brick paths that hearken to our 236-year history, we provide a modern experience that never loses sight of the past." For more information, please take a look at the Conference Services brochure.

String, Piano, and Wind Players

String players and pre-formed groups are welcome to apply; some slots are available for wind players and pianists. Wind players, please be sure to review COVID-19 policies as there are special requirements for wind players per venue policy.

Facilities

This year, concerts for participants and faculty will take place in Decker Theatre at the Gibson Center for the Arts. The large hall has excellent acoustics and a fine grand piano. Three additional pianos are available for our use elsewhere in Gibson.

Accommodations

Lodging will be in single rooms within three-bedroom suites in Sassafras Hall and Chester Hall – three-floor, air-conditioned buildings with a lounge and kitchenette on each floor, elevator, laundry room, and Wi-Fi. Ensembles will meet in the lounges or at the Gibson Center.

Dining

Meals at Hodson Dining Hall focus on locally sourced ingredients, a benefit of the college’s proximity to the surrounding farmland. The Executive Chef offers a variety of food options to accommodate all needs, from healthy, traditional fare to vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free. This year, options will include outdoor seating and meals to go.
